My Moon Myth
The Octopus in the Moon
The Octopus in the Moon
Many moons ago, a huge grey octopus roamed the seas. He loved his home but was dismayed one day to find a ship polluting the water. He sought advice from the Spirit of the Sea. She told him that they were from the land. Over time, more and more ships appeared. Grey went to speak to his friend Big Blue the Whale. She told him about a sea on the Moon called Tranquillity, and from that day on, Grey could think of nothing else: he wanted to swim in that sea. Whilst watching the Moon one night, he saw a giant sky bear and asked for his help. The Bear agreed and carried Grey through the stars to the Moon. So now, if you look at the sea on every full moon, you can see Grey sending his tranquillity back to Earth.

Moon dragon
Once there was a moon dragon. He was pearl white, with a crescent moon-shaped symbol on his forehead. He had amber eyes that could see across space. Once the moon dragon had finished shaping Earth, a black hole appeared and threatened to destroy Earth and all its inhabitants (the inhabitants at this time were the dinosaurs). The moon dragon knew that whatever he did the black hole would try to destroy Earth. So, it challenged the black hole to a battle. The black hole agreed and so the battle of creation and destruction began. The moon dragon continually blasted the black hole to push it back out of the solar system and it succeeded. But because the moon dragon had used so much of its power, it was very tired. It curled up and created a white orb to sleep in. Then the orb turned to rock. The moon.
